Losing our Marbles ...

We had a super fun day today- which is remarkable considering we did not have a super fun night. For the past few nights actually, last night included, she's been waking up at random times, standing up and then getting scared (of either not being able to see how to sit down or just scared of the dark) and then she'll cry out for me. All it takes is for me to go in, hold her for a minute or two and she's back to sleep, but dang. Mama wants a full-night's rest sometimes!

Anyway, today we had plans to spend the afternoon with our new BFFs Campbell and Owen (and their mom Amy):
Meeting of the Minds
Side note: Yes, this is an additional set of multiples that we're blessed to know! Must be something in the water around here- I should probably switch to strictly bottled varieties for safe keeping! We visited Marbles Kids Museum in Downtown Raleigh for our play date and I couldn't have been more impressed.

It's only $5 to get in and there's so much for a pre-toddler to do! For example, there's a lot of crawling to be had:
Some gardening to tend to:
Teaching her early to butcher plants
Fake lawns to be mowed and cared for:
Mandrake's Pride and Joy
Cars to be driven:
Diva in training

Road Rage is an inherited trait in this family.
And to be driven in:
To the Moon, James ...

Fish to check-up on:
This kid loves an aquarium
And believe it or not, That Baby even made an appearance:
That Baby is equally unhappy with hair-bow requirements too
All-in-all, it was a splendid way to spend a hot, humid afternoon (which turned into a Monsoon shortly after we returned home) and Beatrice Kate was exhausted:
Of course, not too tired for Veggie Straws though.
We'll definitely be back for future visits to Marbles. We really only saw the tip of the iceberg, so to speak, of all the fun things to do there. We mostly stuck to the first floor, "pre-walker" section but walked through everything else on our way out. They even have a pirate ship for goodness sake! It's totally worth the money to get in. I can see how a science major such as myself preschooler could easily spend a day there.

  1. We loved Marbles on our first trip there too! However, I think I'll wait till she's a little older - perhaps 2 before I consider an actual membership. ps. love the new layout! :D
